Hunting Scene Snuff Box Antique Brass circa 1900 1910
A very nice Hunting Scene Snuff Box, of rectangular form with cast raised foliate and thumb piece, engine turned base and sides, the lid with raised scene depicting two dogs Man on Horseback with Lance drawn back while Chasing A Buck among trees and foliage.
Not a lot of info is known by me other than what I have researched and what the owner of this Snuff Box has told me.This has been researched and a ruff estimate makes it between 100 to 106 years old.The Box is in Good condition with some scratches.Opens and closes nice good tight hinges and closure with no major dings.Has been inscribed IH t Eliza then 3 lines underneath.
After much research we believe this box was made
By Edward Smith, Birmingham 1846.
No positive proof but we found almost identical pattern on another snuff box by Edward Smith.
If anyone has anymore info Please share. This one has been tough to research!
