Folk art pottery from Tonala, Mexico in the brunido or burnished, hand polished, style. Traditional multi color flower and scroll design on exterior called the flor de Tonala. This floral design has been popular in the area since the early 1900s. This long tailed rather large rat is an unusual figurine in this style, most animals created are birds, cats and other more popular animals. Marked Mexico by hand on base. No artist or potters mark.
