105 Year Old Print. Ideal for Framing. Harvest Moon
At the turn of the century Burr McIntosh published the magazine "The Burr McIntosh Monthly". Promoted as a magazine of cheerful wholesome philosophy, it was a calculatedly commercial proposition. The bulk of the publication consisted of pictures, of usually beautiful women or actresses printed on heavy paper and suitable for framing. McIntosh company would sell you the framing supplies as well! The pictures were strictly moral, but managed to include a fair amount of exposed flesh in the way of arms, legs, and carefully draped breasts. This picture/page is directly out of Burr McIntosh Monthly August 1904. This is not a copy. The Page I have listed today is from the August 4, 1904 issue is 6" X 12" with the photo being 8.5" X 4". The title of the photo is "Harvest Moon" with the identity of the beautiful young lady missing. The 3 holes on the left margin are where the magazine was bound together with a cotton twine. The reverse side is blank and the condition is on a scale of 1 to 10 is 8. No rips or tears, some aging of the paper which is natural for a print of 105 years. Everything I sell has a Satisfaction Guarantee. Return the item in the same condition and I will refund the price and cost of shipping including insurance.
