WHAT IS THE TAROT & WHAT DOES IT DO?

The tarot is a deck of cards, 78 in total, that represent the path of life.

The first half of the deck is comprised of 22 cards called the Higher Arcana and these represent the path of life, events in one's life and major influences that effect the questioner. The Major Arcana also represents energies of the Universe or God-forces.

The remaining 56 cards - called the Minor Arcana represent more mundane energies and are further divided into four suits: Wands, Cups, Pentacles, and Swords.

Each suit corresponds to an elemental energy- with that elemental energy governing certain mundane aspects of daily living. For example, the suit of Pentacles governs the home, employment, family, children, inheritance, stocks, and anything related to finances.

The tarot is thought of, among Witches, as a current peek into potential events.

The reading is divided into 5 sections. The center represents you & the influences surrounding you.

The top three cards on the right and the top three on the left represent two possible path choices for the future. Normally, cards on the right represent the path if you "go with the flow & let things just happen" while the three on the left represent how things may turn out if you "follow advice, messages in dreams, and guidance from your intuition and angel or spirit guides."

The three cards on the bottom left represent messages such as messages in dreams, interference from other people, letters, legal issues, and communications of all types.

The three on the right represent energies and influences out of your control such as divine energies, natural events, etc.
