There are tails of ribbon at the back that can be tied at the back of the head to made a head band that holds the hair back.

Also if you tie the ribbon tight to the gathered tulle it can be used as a crown for your tutu.

Just bobby pin it into place and let the ribbon dangle down the back of your head.
