I love to see the old barns and outbuildings, as they remind me of past generations, and my grandpas, and visits to their farms, and an era I’d like to see us return to in many ways. I drive by this building every time I go to the refuge, and every time it catches my attention and I say, “Someday I’m going to stop and take a picture of that building before someone tears it down.” Well… I saw another barn get torn down that I used to drive by every time I went to town and would always say the same thing. So, one day became that someday for this one. I stopped and backed up to take advantage of the opportunity while I still had it. Seeing the other barn get torn down and knowing how many times I missed the opportunity while I had it, reminds me not to take things for granted. The people and things in our lives that we love will not always be there. They may not be there tomorrow… there is no guarantee. Grab hold of your opportunities while you still have them…the ones that really matter to you. Don’t take for granted that they will always be there.
