Another one of those photos that came about on our way to somewhere else. One early morning while riding along with my daughter on the back roads (she was still getting her practice in for her driver’s license), I saw the sun rising over the clouds. I suddenly said “Stop! Stop! Right here!”. She stopped and looked at me like she thought I was crazy because she didn’t see anything in her pathway to make her suddenly stop. I said, “You went too far. Back up, I’ve got to get this photo!” She pleaded with me, “Mom, we don’t have time… I don’t want to be late.” I assured her, “I’ll hurry, but I’ve got to get my ‘look for the silver lining in the clouds’ picture… I may not ever have this chance again.” I love sunrises and sunsets, but I am also the kind of person that believes in looking at the bright side of things for the most part. I actually remembered to bring the camera along with me this time (I oftentimes forget to take it on ordinary short trips to places we ordinarily go), so I wasn’t about to let this one go. (I did hurry though, and did not cause her to be late… confirmation of my reason for always leaving a bit early for places… allows a cushion for unexpected things.)
