Back Cover Painting: This month's back cover painting is another of Bob Casey's superb 3-views, an Albatros DIII. Bob (EAA 97154) is Vice President and senior illustrator of Vintage Graphics of Hanson, Massachusetts. He is available for commission work and his address is P.O. Box 12, Abington, MA 02351.

Today we read more about the Fokker Triplane and even the Fokker D-VII than other World War I German fighters, however, the Albatros (in its many variations) was the most widely used. The "V-strutter", as it was known, was subject to wing flutter, and numerous in-flight structural failures resulted in an order that prohibited prolonged dives... hardly enforceable in the heat of combat. Nevertheless, the Albatros was effective, mainly due to numerical superiority over smaller Allied patrols.

This magazine is in very good condition. The spine is tight and secure with no loose pages. The covers are mostly clean with very little wear. The pages are clean and unmarked. The magazine measures approximately 8 1/2" x 11" and contains 92 pages including covers. (mag792)
