This is a lovely handled cake plate or server. It is in the Bridal Rose pattern by Moritz Zdekauer, Altrohlau, (Bohemia) Austria. There are pink rose swags. The somewhat scalloped rim is decorated with gold and a medium green.
Moritz Zdekauer purchased the factory in 1884 and the company began using an MZ and eagle mark. The letters MZ have remained part of the company logo ever since. In 1909 the German porcelain manufacturer, C.M. Hutschenreuther, became the owner and named it Altrohlau Porcelain Factories and the mark changed to include CMHR. Altrohlau is now known as Stara Role in the Czech Republic.
The cake plate measures 11.25" and 11.625" across the handle ends.
The backside is marked in green under glaze with the MZ, crown, eagle and Austria mark. It also has another mark in tan or gold that looks like a flower and 'C'. '1000Z' is impressed into the body on back.
The cake plate is in very good condition. The green on the rim at handle is worn (see #2 in the 2nd picture). There are no chips, flea-bites, cracks, crazing or repairs.
