This is a very pretty 10.5" diameter red on creamy white cabinet or wall plate by Vernon Kilns. Vernon Kilns is best known for its souvenir plates of places across the United States. This plate celebrates North Carolina, The Old North State, and has a sculpted leaf rim shape.

The scenes are from center top to bottom (see 2nd group of pictures): AUCTION SALE IN TOBACCO WAREHOUSE, state capitol building, and DIAMOND SHOAL LIGHT. The next scenes are upper and lower of each side (see 3rd group of pictures): BLOWING ROCK, DUKE CAMPANILE, KILL DEVILL MONUMENT (to Wilbur Wright and Orville Wright), and BELL TOWER.

The back of the plate is marked NORTH CAROLINA / THE OLD NORTH STATE / (seal of the state of North Carolina) / BY / VERNON KILNS / U.S.A. This is encircled in a wreath of dogwood flowers and dogwood leaves.

The plate is in excellent condition. There are no utensil marks on dish. There are no flea-bites, chips, cracks, flakes, crazing or repairs.
