THE LEVEE AT NEW ORLEANS

Offered for sale is this great authentic original 1894 vintage photographic (light purple-tinted) picture-print (with text-identification/description below the image), showing:
This nice old view a busy Commercial scene, with the numerous Steamers Ships, as it looked in the 1890's; also there are a couple other unrelated images and some text on the back-side, not showing through, and not affecting the front print.

It would look great matted and/or framed or placed in a collector's/historian's scrapbook (as a complimentary piece that might 'fit' nicely with a related locality or theme collection.

The whole print measures approx. (10.5" x 12.5") inches (edge-to-edge), and the image part alone measures about (8 X 10") Inches, with plenty of blank border-spacing, for cropping down of matting, if the buyer wishes to do so. It is 'as-found', untouched, uncropped and not mounted.

SOURCE:
This is an original quality book-plate, half-tone print; ('Half-Tone' being a quality type of printing process used in those days, which produced crisp clear photo images on paper, and looked very close to a real-photo, but it is Not a "Real-Photo", (just to be clear), taken and carefully extracted directly from a scarce and very rare old portfolio/volume of {Views and Scenes of Pioneer America}.
It was printed on thick quality mild-gloss paper around 1894, therefore this actual print is about 115-years-old (and Not a recent reprint, copy or any other type of modern reproduction).

DOCUMENTATION:
Also; Printing and publishing documentation will be sent with the print for authentication and proof of age.

CONDITION/GRADING:
Some mild age-toning to the print surface: [Specific Flaws of This Print; A few tiny edge creases and small mild scuffs, hardly noticeable, and not affecting image].
It is Graded in overall Very-Fine Condition, with minimal noticeable flaws, other than those mentioned in 'Specifics' above, (also any other flaws that may appear, if any, and not otherwise mentioned were probably on the original photograph prior to printing).

SHIPPING INFO:
It will be shipped safely and securely in clear Plastic sheet-protector, in a Tube or with Special Packing, backed by thick Cardboard, to protect from any damage, (with any available documentation included).

FOOTNOTE:
Please Note: Any blotchiness, color-bleeding/discoloration and/or lines/spots that may be showing on the images (that were not mentioned, as imperfections or flaws in the Condition section), are scanner-created imperfections and from background, and NOT on the original, which looks even better than my scans can demonstrate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTE ON IMAGE(S):
I scanned the image(s) with a Low-Resolution setting, so they don't take long for the viewer to open, so the original looks even better.
