~ 1 7 9 4 ~ Offering this wonderful piece of History. This Penny was minted when George Washington was President; Only the second year of US Coinage; just 8 yrs after the Declaration of Independence was signed, and only five years after the Constitution was ratified.
This coin is corroded, (Probably a dug coin) but is still a very collectable, old (215 Years) coin. This is the 1794 head of 1794 Variety It has a very well defined Head with a lot of hair detail, a very clear date, with a weak LIBERTY. The reverse has approx half of the lettering. It also has a full one-Cent which is fairly rare on some varieties.
One can only imagine who may have handled and spent this coin. Sorry for the poor scan. Hard to scan when slabbed.
