Rural Bazar is an initiative by CMI Ltd in the direction of promoting rural handicraft products and building capacities of the artisans living in the villages of India. It has been established with a view to develop markets for rural handicrafts and to establish a reliable supply chain of a large variety of high quality rural handicrafts in order to feed the growing consumer markets in India and overseas.
Rural Bazar introduces its latest offerings from the world of Indian rural art. Each product articulates the passion and the precision of the artisans. For whom, art is both a means and an end, a medium to get in touch with the higher self and experience the joyous ecstasy.
Apart from these activities, rural bazar has also been implementing training and employment generation programmes for the artisans, especially women, in order to upgrade their skill and in helping them earn a better livelihood. Rural bazar is continuously trying to manufacture eco-friendly products. Rural bazar is proud of not using child labour. Acting as a charioteer to the rural artisans of India, Rural bazar ensures work for every hand and thus has helped restoring the artisans' pride in their work, recognized their genius and given them a viable and honored future. Rural Bazaar currently provides services to more than 200 artisans and 150 Self Help Groups, 60% of whom are women. Many independent State & National Awardees and traditional family based artisans also market their crafts through Rural Bazar. Potters, Brass Workers, Jute workers, Basket Weavers, Wood Carvers, Leather workers and various artisans with specialist skills from all over the country come to Rural Bazar for marketing/ support services.
Today, we have emerged as one of the credible names in providing exquisite Indian handicraft products all across the world only because of our talented team comprising of Managers, Back Office staff & Quality Controllers besides a close knit network of award wining craftsmen, recognized by the Govt. of India for their master craftsmanship.
