Title: Henriette Ronner: The Painter Of Cat Life And Cat Character Author: M.H. Spielmann Publication Information: A New and Popular Edition. Cassell & Company, Limited, London, Paris and Melbourne, 1892 Additional Information: 47p. There are 13 full page plates of her paintings. Approx. size of book is 14” x 11” x 5/8”. There is also a 12 x 15 sheet advertising another book by Henriette Ronner. Summary: This edition was published as a less elaborate edition of the original work and was done so all may enjoy what was originally a volume for collectors. Henriette Ronner was a Dutch Painter who lived from 1821-1909. She was known as the painter of dogs but then started doing cats. Her paintings are stunning. Condition: Hardcover – picture board; Front cover has a stain on it, covers show some wear and some soiling, corners are bumped; back lining paper is tore and scuffed so back cover is loose; text is pulling but intact and has some foxing throughout and a little light soiling; plate are nice, the protective tissues are worn and torn and lose in the text – don’t know if they were ever bound in or not; overall a good copy.
