Summary: The Literary Digest were not, in basic intention, a current-events periodical, but rather a weekly eclectic that surveyed editorial opinion and condensed and arranged it for the information of readers. It gave attention to statements of the news and public issues and was ranked as one of the most important weeklies of the period. Topic Headings with multiple articles (most) under them in the issues include (many vary somewhat from issue to issue): • Topics Of The Day • Foreign Comment • Letters and Art • Religion and Social Service • Current Poetry • Science and Invention • Outline For Debate • Reviews Of New Books • Development Of The Motor Truck • Vacation Trips In America Condition: Hard cover, Bound Volume, Ex-Lib-usual stamps/marks; all original front and back covers have been removed; covers show slight wear with light soiling; Spine seam is cracking in a few places so little loose, few small soiled specks, few small tears and some places have been taped, light age discoloring especially on outer page edges. Overall a good copy. • Title page and last page have been folded so are wrinkled and have tears at seams. • March 11 issue is missing a page from an article • April 15 issue is missing about half of it’s pages plus some of the other pages have duplicates • Couple pages have small scuffed spots Shipping & Handling/Payment: Bound Printed Matter with dc and insurance, $8.25 to $13.75, depending on zip, USA (not negotiable).
