DESCRIPTION As a collector, have you ever found the most delightful cup without a saucer? If so - buy the cup and MAYBE one day in your search you'll find the matching saucer or MAYBE you'll find a marriage made in heaven. That's what happened with this incredible set. This 60+ year old cup is a perfect match for this 80+ year old saucer. The set is a lustrious JET BLACK & sooo sleek looking. We have a sneaking suspiction that it's the same porcelain mold/ pattern that was hugely popular because of its timeless stlying...
The china teacup is fluted out (as is the saucer's edge) and the handle is gold leaf painted with a bamboo like design. The teacup and saucer are rimmed in a handpainted gold leaf. Super cool.
COLORS: The set is bone china white with a rich jet black and handpainted gold leaf gilt trim.
SIZE: The wonderful teacup's mouth has a diameter of about 3 1/2.a The saucer is about 5 1/2" in diameter.
CONDITION: Perfectly matched set. To different makers from two different eras, but most assuredly both are English Bone China. Excellent Antique Vintage Condition (no known chips, cracks, loss of detail (rubbing) or repairs) - Teacup has 2 super small knicks on its sides (see top left image). Also, crazing is present on bottom of teacup. Overall the detailing is bright. Set needs some cleaning.
