Up for sale is a vintage French Limoges Teacup. It is decorated with blue roses on a snowy white background that decrease in size as they go down the side of the cup. Next to the 2 rows of blue roses is raised ribbing and each section is divided by gold. The top rim is also trimmed in gold. Note the great angular shaped handle also trimmed in gold. The bottom of the cup is green ink stamped under glaze Limoges France. Over glaze is blue stamp Limoges AJCO France. AJCO - these initials appear as a fancy monogram in an over glaze decorating mark in blue. The decorating studio is unidentified. The example and type of of mark indicate that this studio operated during the 1930's or later. There is also red mark 825. The cup is in excellent condition with no noted chips or hairlines. Gold is close to being 100% intact. The only thing we notice and it is a manufacturing issue is the bottom of the cup where the ribbed sections are, is a bit rough. The cup measures 1 3/4" tall, 3 7/8" in diameter, and measured 4 5/8" across the handle. Holds 4 oz.
