Up for sale is a vintage Warwick China Demitasse Tea Cup and Saucer. We estimate that this was produced somewhere in the 1930's-1940's. Warwick china was made in Wheeling, West Virginia, in a pottery working from 1887 to 1951. Many pieces were made with hand painted or decal decorations. The most familiar Warwick has a shaded brown or green background. It is also said that Warwick also made china for the railroad companies. This gorgeous set is in the faded dark hunter green with stunning decaled pink roses. Both are so delicate. The saucer is gently scalloped with some raised embossing near the rim. Rims of the both the cup and saucer are both detailed in gold. The cup measures 3" tall, 2 7/8" diameter at the top, and measures 3 5/8" across the handle. It holds 6 oz. The saucer measures 5 1/8". There are no chips, cracks or breaks on either piece. Both pieces show crazing that would be expected in china of this age. Minimal rubbing of the gold. The decals are still bright and intact.
