Vintage Antique Book titled, “Common Sense in the Household”. This book’s copyright page states, “Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1871, by CHARLES SCRIBNER & CO., In the Office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington.” The book was created by Trow’s Printing and Bookbinding Co., 205-213 East 12th St., New York. The book is 556 pages long and appears to be a first edition. This book is in Good Condition with no missing pages. The cover is partially loose from the spine, but the binding is intact. There are some creased corners to some pages inside the book and a missing bottom corner on the second to the last blank page. There are some small tears in this book. One on the top of page 334 approximately 1 1/2 inches long, two on page 343, one 1/4 of an inch long on the top, and one ¾ of an inch tear on bottom, and one 3/8 of an inch tear on the side of page 485. There are some small brown stains, the most noticeable is a stain that bleeds through several pages, from 140 to 172, and progressive gets smaller and disappears, see pictures. There is some writing in pencil on two pages, the first blank page has what appears to be library identification, and there is a recipe written on another blank page, see pictures. This Book would make a wonderful addition to your Vintage Antique Cook Book Collection.
