Vintage Glass Bead Necklace and Earrings Set. The Necklace and Earrings are in Excellent Condition. The Necklace is of copper link and string construction, the single strand beads are on copper links and the double strand center beads are on string. The two rectangular pieces joining the single and double stands are not glass, and are of a material such as Bakelite, early plastic or some other material, I know not which. The white and colored beads on the Earrings are strung on copper wire, the colored center beads are then attached to the white beads with the same white thread as in the necklace. There is also some glue residue between the colored and white beads on the earrings. The large white glass beads on the necklace have an acorn squash shape. The center double strand of the necklace has faceted pink, green, yellow and blue beads alternating with the large white beads, see pictures below. The Necklace’s rectangular bars are marked “MADE IN GERMANY, and the silver colored metal hook is marked, “JAPAN”. The brass backs on the Earrings are marked, “MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY”. The metal construction on both the necklace and earrings have some patina. The Necklace measures approximately 16 inches long from hook to other end. The earrings measures approximately 7/8 inches diameter. I was not sure what the best method was to clean this set so I will leave that up to the lucky new owner.
