Exquisite Hand Carved Red Agate Gemstone Vase Temple JarDESCRIPTION: Mongolian Red Agate carved into an exquisite vase! I found this vase during my travels into old China visiting small villages. - Normally, you will only see jewelry pieces in red agate.
- It is more common to find these type of vases carved from a brown agate.
- A wonderful carving adorned with a Temple Lion sitting on top, Fierce Dragon on the front, and, the Phoenix holding rings on both sides.
- Also, I don't know if you can see them very well, however, I attempted to photograph the flower carvings on the front sides of the vase.
- The vase has a lattice type carving on the back side of the vase.
NOTE: I had an Asian Art Appraiser look at this vase and he said that he could not say that it was Chinese because of the way the Dragon is carved. He said the dragons looked more like how a carver from Viet Nam would make a dragon. CONDITION: Excellent condition! No chips or cracks!
