ITEM DESCRIPTION: Bound Volume of Harper's New Monthly Magazine, December 1855 to May 1856, Volume XII, copyright 1856. The Antique Trader Vintage Magazines' Price Guide by Richard and Elaine Gross Russell value this volume at $325.00. Shown below, the key here is Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens which is serialized through all 6 issues contained here beginning with Chapter 1 on page 234 through to Chapter 18 at the end of the volume (story does continue over the next several issues/volume ending with chapter 34 in June 1857 - This is just the first 18 chapters, the earliest published portions). Illustrated. GRADING - CONDITION: I tried to include a fair amount of photos showing the condition of the volume: there is a great deal of wear into the covers, especially around the edges and at the corners, also along the surface of the spine--the bottom half of the back cover is coming separate from the rest of the volume, but doesn't threaten to fall off. Just handle with care. Soiling on the inside back cover. Bookplate on inside front cover with heavy toning at the edges of the first few pages. The inside pages are actually quite clean on the whole. On a scale of 10 I'd call this volume a 2, possibly 2.5.
