Exceedingly unusual Turkish Usak design rug, from the Taspinar area of Anatolia,it has a stunning sky blue open field inset with a distinctive centralized and yet typical taspinar medallion. Hand-knotted in the Turkish double knot style its knottage is approximately 144 KPSI, pure and naturally dyed first shearing spring wool on a wool foundation. This is very unlike the usual Turkish Taspinar designs or colors, which makes it both fascinating and unique. Very ottoman in design and colors with a lovely border of floral motifs in coffee cream and white colors, quite different from traditional Taspinar designs and colors. This rug is 100% pristine and a collectors item, approximate age of this rug is 1950's and was clearly kept as an heirloom Rug, this rug was never used and is like new.
Actual dimensions are 7' 2" X 3' 10".
This rug has been inspected by the AKM (Turkish Directorate of Antiquities) certified and correspondingly has a lead seal of Authenticity attached.
