Captivating Turkish Yahyali Village vintage rug Circa 1950's.
Beautiful light creams and brown, quite unlike traditional Yahyali rugs but still with characteristic blues and golds with cream colored border motif work. Acknowledged as one of the premier weaving villages in Central Anatolia. Yahyali is located south-east of Maden, which is known for the fine knotting technique employed by expert tribal weavers, this hand-knotted and vegetable extract dyed rug has approximately 144 KPSI Turkish double knots characteristically for a Yahyali incredibly dense weaving occasioning its weight.
This rug is pristine with beautiful short tasseling work at each end
Dimensions are 6' 7" X 3' 10".
The owner of this rug will have a significant piece of art which you will almost never see auctioned through leading auctioneer houses. My company is not unique, based in Oregon, USA, but our endeavor is to bring to the marketplace striking original works of art, this is another one.
