Thierry Mugler used strong angular lines to emphasize a woman's shape. His very distinctive style included wasp waists, padded shoulders, cutouts, intricate seaming, asymmetrical lines and snap closures. This iconic suit has all that softened by the cotton candy pink color.

The jacket has sharp peaked lapels that curve into the wasp waist which closes with two hidden snaps and one plexiglass and silver toned faux toggle button. The cut of the deep V neckline is echoed at the sleeves which are also accented with plexiglass toggles.The jacket has precise double princess seaming on the front and back and strong shoulder pads to emphasize the wasp waist and angular pocket flaps add width and body to the jacket's peplum.

The skirt's center front hemline reverses the deep V neckline with an inverted V cutout and closes in the back with a zipper topped by an angular-set snap.

Condition: New without tags. It came to me with the Neiman Marcus retail tag pictured still attached, but as it has been stored for 25 years, I thought it best to have it professionally cleaned to restore the freshness.

Content & Care: Shell: 80% viscose;20% linen; lining: 100% acetate; dry clean only.

Sizing: It's labeled a size 42 which should be equivalent to a US size 10, but as with any clothing you purchase online, please use the measurements given (below) and compare them to a similarly styled garment you already own for best fit.

For a reference point with the pictures, my manni has measurements of 38" x 28" x 39" and she was 'stuffed' at the bustline and the skirt had to be pinned at her waist. I used the back only for the jacket bust measurement (below), but between all the princess seaming and the deep V neckline, the front section of the jacket is larger than the back and that is not reflected in the measurement.
