Offered here is a vintage antique reader and picture book; Mother Goose Alphabet Her Rhymes and Jingles, Printed on Indestructible Linen, no publisher found, 22 pps, dated 1884 [on one of the inside line drawn illustrations, Douglas '84]. Full color pictorial card covers (and pages) . The first pair of pages (counting inside covers) has a full color illustrated set of alphabet references. The next pair of pages, printed in black & white, offers some rhymes and observations along with line drawings. This pattern continues through the alphabet, for the full set of twenty-two pages in the book (counting inside covers). The alphabet references are taken from Mother Goose rhymes. For example, Curly Locks Curly Locks wilt thou be mine? Thou shalt not wash the dishes nor yet feed the swine; but sit on a cushion and sew a fine seam, and feed upon strawberries sugar and cream. I think this would make a great formula for a relationship!. Damage to pasted cardboard on the covers - as seen - book is complete. Illustrations may be executed on stone with hand coloring.
