Ok, so I’m in my mid- twenties, recently became a mother for the first time and after washing my daughters clothes and trying to get stains of baby food off of her bibs, I started thinking that I want a washboard! Maybe Im crazy, but I want to wear the whole dress and hair up and use a washboard in an old washbin in the sunlight! hahah I just think that they are so neat and probably work well! I think I’ve lost it now.. :)

When I was a kid (not THAT long ago – we’re talking 1975 here) we used to have one in the motor home. We would take these marathon 5 week trips and my parents liked to do things on the cheap. I have vivid memories of doing laundry on a washboard in Yosemite National Park. :-)
I don’t think you are crazy :-)

Oh gosh ! I still have a washboard with heavey glass ribs insert..Its a small one for doing undies or doll clothes but it works.
ummmmm( Born Dec 22, 1941 just after the bombing of pearl harbor so my Mom went through the depression and then WWII with 2 small children to support – My Dad died when I was 2 months old )
Sooo, we used things that didn’t cost anything. And hung our clothes on the clothes line to dry.

I remember my mom using one when I was little. Not feeling a bit nostalgic for that…no way! lol
