Greetings Bonanzlers!
My name is Scott Pooler, you may know me from the Trading Assistant Journal and other blogs. My company is iBusinessLogic Corporation of Largo, Florida. We design, develop and manage web 2.0 websites and blogs using content management systems that are easy for the end user (that’s you) to update.
Because of the obvious desire most of you have to see Bonanzle and of course your own Bonanzle booths to succeed, I have been working on a way to help you drive more traffic to this website and your own booths.
The obvious answer involves content creation (writing stuff) with a focused and specific target – your Bonanzle booth. This is a proven method for attracting and then funneling traffic to a desired location. I am speaking about blogs or blog style sites otherwise known as CMS or content management system websites.
CMS websites provide an incredible advantage over standard static page websites when the content is updated on a regular basis by the owner. This updated content brings traffic to the site through long tail search terms you generate simply by writing about what you love to sell, what your passionate about and what you want to promote – your business and your products.
I know many of you already have websites and/or blogs, this is great! But for those of you who do not I would like to extend a special offer for Bonanzle members only from iBusinessLogic.com
iBusinessLogic will design, install and teach you how to operate a new small business website/blog. Additionally, we will create an automated feed to display your Bonanzle booth items directly on a page or pages within the new site. Post a new item to Bonanzle and it will appear on your own website, sell an item through Bonanzle and that item will automatically be removed from your site. Checkout will occur on Bonanzle so you will have no additional shopping cart headaches to worry about. We will include SEO and Google Analytics modules along with up to 4 additional tools (like slide viewer, calendar, twitteriffic, or many others) and we will insert your logo in the header and install a custom background all for a very low, unpublished special Bonanzle price of $800.00 (Normally $1500.00)
Hosting is available through iBusinessLogic-Host or LunarPages
A stand alone website provides a place to not only promote your Bonanzle store but your personal or company brand as well. If you have a passion for your business, if your considered an expert in what it is you sell, if your a crafter or collector or niche marketer the best way to establish a loyal following for your business is to create and maintain an online property filled with your specific content and branding.
If you choose to use our iBusinessLogic-Host hosting, I will even extend and offer to build the framework of your new site, select the colors with you, install the header with your logo and let you see how it will work, before you make any payment at all for our services. If you find that using a content management system website, which is as easy as writing an email to use, is not for you… You will owe us nothing.
Payment plans are also available in this situation (when using iBusinessLogic-Host) (Minimum deposit of $250)
I think it would be fantastic for Bonanzle to have an army of passionate merchants posting articles about both Bonanzle and their own businesses and products placed upon Bonanzle with links to same… This kind of content is exactly what Google and MSN and Yahoo love to follow. The project would require dedication in the form of regular content generation by each individual external site owner to be most effective, but effective is what this could be.
If you are interested in learning more please contact us through the contact form on http://ibusinesslogic.com/blog
I will be happy to explain exactly how this one step can improve your business for years to come.

Thanks Scott for the great information. It’s definitely something I will be checking into. We will need to keep this updated.
I also want to thank you for your great response to the BAC posters. I am so glad that you have pointed out that the reasoning behind having BAC, is not for spamming. I for one am so happy with Bonanzle, I just want to share my feelings. With all the unhappiness and bad feelings with a major auction site, why not share some happiness and hope for a profitable online future. Lucky for us that we have you to point out.. that we are not spammers, just a bunch of over zealous members of a great community.
Thanks again, Rykar

Scott,
for the techies amongst us, can you specify a bit more which preferred technology you would use for the site offer, especially: - what standard shopping cart (incl. version)? - what standard CMS? - php or asp.net (incl. versions) - database (incl. version)
The ‘semi-integration with Bonanzle’ is certainly a nice perk.

I’m first in line and excited about it. Scott and I had talked about this back in late Spring with an eye towards eBay integration, today I officially took the plunge.
My budget is limited, so this will get done in steps, but I’m sure Scott and I will keep you updated on progress throughout. First up will be the blog as described by Scott above with both Bonanzle and eBay feeds integrated in.
As someone who has seen the power of blogging first hand I’m looking forward to combining it with e-commerce in a relevant (ie: non-spammy) way.
Thanks,Cliff

Re:
- what standard shopping cart (incl. version)? No standard shopping cart included – as I said above, we will simply import a feed from Bonanzle or eBay into the new website. Shopping carts are available but not included at this price. - what standard CMS? No Standard CMS – We work with all kinds, but mainly Joomla! and Wordpress. The quoted installation will be Wordpress set up as a CMS website with a premium custom theme and a blog - php or asp.net (incl. versions) php - database (incl. version) My Sql but version depends upon server used, as I am sure you are aware. Thanks for your interest, I will be most happy to discuss or chat about it further at a convenient time.

Oooohhh…this sounds VERY interesting!!!
How long are you extending this offer?
And can it handle more than one booth? (I also own CabinFever on here.)
I would love to revisit it after Christmas. Too much to do right now for this Holiday season to give it the dedication it would need, but am very interested!

PS for Scott On your business site the story on the cleaning company Ebay seller has two links to his/her Ebay store. One of the links is dead (has old store name).

Cabin, I would love to extend this offer forever but as we all know good things must end sometime. Since this is the first day of the offer, I can not say when it will end yet… I will offer to start the project with a simple deposit as stated… and complete it at your leisure at the agreed upon price. And yes, we could feed items from two booths onto two pages of the site.
Let me know when you would like to get started.
I have placed this offer in my Bonanzle booth as an item for sale with Google checkout, anyone is welcome to buy it there or place a deposit on the website as mentioned.
Today is the best day to get started!
Thanks to Cliff of Things and other stuff for being the first to start a new Bonanzle based website (with an eBay feed).
Looking forward to hearing from you – Cabin Fever

Just wanted to jump in and recommend IBL and Scott Pooler. I have known Scott for nearly a year and he has built my website for eCommerce Marketing Radio News as well as a site for an associate at www.findleylake-property.com.
Both builds have been extremely beneficial and we have seen a wonderful ROI for each!
Scott is great to work with and knows the ins and outs of SEO to build a great web/blog site.

Just wanted to throw in my two cents that for those amongst you who are serious about building a profitable business out of your booth, this is a great way to get that off the ground and running.
As Scott says, the more links that go from the web to Bonanzle, the more seriously search engines will take Bonanzle when they are weighing where to put it in search results. Working with Scott to create a web site/CMS platform like this is a win/win for both you (more traffic to your items, a piece of the web owned by you that will get bigger the more effort you put into it) and for Bonanzle (the aforementioned links from your wildly popular site).
$800 might sound like a lot for those who haven’t priced web sites before, but for setting up an entire system like the one Scott describes, it is a very reasonable rate, from a guy (Scott) who is a proven and highly respected figure in his field.
Cheers, Bill

OK, I’m in.
My palms are sweating…I have a blog that I have only made one entry in, but I can do this. I found a site with some very good ideas for “non diarists” that are good starting points. That’s always been the problem – what DO you say on a blog when you are an “everything” seller? Looking around some more I think I have just been overthinking it. My one post was good, but boy, it took forever to craft. I think I need to loosen up a tad and realize I don’t need to write a novella for each post. LOL I know, I know, shorter IS better :)
I’m prolific at posting in forums, and I should be able to make a blog work for me. I really like the idea of having a link to my Bonanzle booth and the automatic feeds. With my previous blog I sort of felt like a very, very small mote floating around out there in internet land. This gives me a tether :-)
Scott, check your “Buying activity” :-)

I am VERY interested!
Issue…time. I just got a full time job starting on Nov. 10. How many hours a week will this take? I won’t have many at all through Christmas. After that I should be able to give my time to it and I really want to do it!
I want to create my Squangles site and get it rolling. Right now I own the Squangles domain but have not had time to build it. [This is my OOAK children’s art pieces, children’s illustrations, etc.]
So…Scott…what kind of time do you think we need to devote to it weekly?
@NightOwl – you can always do some dry runs by using Twitter (which limits how much you can say) or Squidoo, which helps you with content! I have been playing with those as I contemplate what to blog about.

Wow – Thanks a LOT Bill H!
@NightOwl – Yes you can make a blog work for you! As an example, I just got a new blog for the eBay Stores design company Frooition. The blog is very new and can be found at http://frooitionblog.com. Now for the example, just search for the company name in Google. On my IP a simple search for the word frooition brings back 10 results on the first page. Blogs I have written about the company are 5 of those results and one of those results is from the brand new frootionblog.com – coming in at #6. You may not have heard of Frooition before, but they are a major multi-national company with over 1000 operational eBay stores worldwide. One would think a big company like that would own all of the top ten spots on Google for their own name… But, there it is… CMS style WordPress Blogs Work!

@Cabinfever Time… is a factor for all of us… Fortunately posting to a WordPress based CMS website takes no more time than writing an email.
In fact, studies have shown, and Matt Cutts the search guru of Google agrees, that many small posts are more effective than long drawn out posts (like I write). 200 Words is enough… over 750 words is said to be too much. I don’t know if I agree with the 750 Word limit (obviously) but I do know many very successful website/blogs have many small posts instead of a few large ones…
How Many 200 Word emails have you written before walking out the door?

Scott / iBusinessLogic,

You wrote: ‘In fact, studies have shown, and Matt Cutts the search guru of Google agrees, that many small posts are more effective than long drawn out posts (like I write). 200 Words is enough… over 750 words is said to be too much.’
What studies are those which you refer to?
I have to disagree with those studies as far as our product line is concerned and most media.
The more wordy, the more detailed and complete we described the content of our antique / old magazines, the more views, sales and much higher average selling prices we get. So the ‘short is good’ idea is not valid for all products and services.
In fact, common sense tells me that at least ALL media type of products will benefit from extensive detailed descriptions. The reaason for that is that those typpe of products sell best if the potential buyer can view their ‘content’. Media is all about content. This means it is best to describe video, tapes, cds, dvds, books, magazines, music sheets, lps etc. extensively. The longer description is actaully ‘added value’.

Thanks Scott…I was thinking more about the rampup time than the writing.
I am an IT tech writer by trade…writing comes easy and I am all over the web (squidoo, twitter, plaxo, facebook etc)...just not yet started a blog because I am like ANightOwl (an everything seller and not sure I have compelling enough content for my business).
@Peter…thanks for clearing that up about your name! I have thought of you as Lee Flang all this time! Sorry :-)

Peter (formerly Lee – Sorry)
Strictly speaking from a blogging perspective, some “experts” claim shorter is better. If you read any of my blogs, you would certainly come to the conclusion that I do not agree or abide by that theory. I agree with you, that longer, more detailed, expansive descriptions, not only of what the product does, but how it can help improve the users life… Are the way to go. Thus my promotion of the idea of combining a CMS based WordPress website/blog with Bonanzle. Bonanzle excels at simplicity, brevity, clean lines and a minimalistic approach. Yet content is King, why not combine the two? Drive content seekers to a clean checkout at Bonanzle. Some take the long content concept a bit too far (see long sales letters) but still even with those long sales letter approaches, people buy when they are informed. I just finished a long blog post about this subject (kinda) on the Trading Assistant Journal Advertising & Promotion and Seth Godin – New Marketing http://snurl.com/4uec4
The point I was making to Cabin Fever was that some people claim (and no, I have not seen any published studies, sorry for the overstatement)that short sweet posts are all that is needed. Matt Cutts says a post a day keeps the website healthy and he mentions that post only needs 200 words or so to keep Google happy. Certainly two or three posts a week, also will work. I don’t ever think I have heard Matt Cutts say longer, more detailed content was a bad thing.
This is all a relatively new way of communication and marketing, blog style of website development brings together many elements in one place to provide efficient and easy to update content to any business website.
I believe very strongly that CMS based development is the only choice when contemplating a new website for any business.

@Cabin, I can have you up and running fairly quick – say in a few weeks, shorter if you have a logo and color ideas already. Certainly before the end of this month, and if you are a good content provider, by the end of next week could be possible. (I spend more time waiting for client content than anything else in this business…)

Thanks so much to Elizabeth (A Night Owl Treasures) for posting this comment on the iBusinessLogic.com/blog!
Elizabeth Van Pelt | Oct 30, 2008 Well, this Bonanzler is onboard. It’s a chunk of change, but not so long ago I was paying more than that a month in fees to eBay. I have done a couple of simple websites on my own and they are incredible time sinks to develop. Having something like this designed and installed for me is going to save me a LOT of time, frustration, hair and money. I have had to fly solo on my other attempts, and it is great to know this time I have a pro doing the hard parts and holding my hand so I can get it going. I’m very excited about moving forward with this! I sincerely hope more of my fellow Bonanzlers follow suit soon – trust me, as someone who has spent days developing and constantly updating various pathetically simple, barely hit webpages, this is well worth the cost. I was a graphic artist for years, have been using computers for almost 3 decades (I started young LOL), am married to a software engineer, and I recognize what an awesome deal this is. My time is money. I would much rather spend my time listing than teaching myself webpage design!

Quick Question: I have a plumdrop page where I blog linked to Bonanzle and also my own website. I belong to two “groups” there. It generates a lot of traffic. How is your service different?
