I have a predesigned photo album/scrapbook with 20 pages. I made a little slideshow so looking at that many pictures wouldn’t be as boring. I paste the code from photobucket into the listing – I preview and it works fine – but when I save and update the booth all I get is the text instead of the embeded object.
Can someone help me get this to work. I ended up putting a link to the slideshow but I’d rather people didn’t leave the listing if possible.
Thanks
jd

hi judi ~ I haven’t tried that myself, but it’s a brilliant idea! I’m wondering if it’s something in the slideshow coding that isn’t compatible with Bonanzle’s setup. Maybe shoot Mark & Bill a b-mail about it..?
If you want to use the link, you can have it open in a new window (rather than folks leaving your listing) by adding target=”_blank” at the end of your url inside the >
Your diaper cakes are adorable!! Too bad I got no babies…well, besides my two eight month old puppies (who would see a diaper cake as a free-for-all shredding opportunity!!) LOL

I don’t think you can do it, most likely it’s a javascript based thing. I’m pretty sure the security here will prevent it running on the site. I could be wrong but you can’t even use an animated gif here and I know they tightened security and scripts that “run things” can be dangerous so it’s a tricky thing to allow something to run on the site and know it’s safe. That’s said, it could be it will run but I have my doubts. Too many bad folks out there using scripts for not such nice things as scrapbooks and such….

I can get photo links and gifs to work. They seem to be functional if placed at the end or bottom of the listing.

Well it’s good the animated gifs will run in the page, they won’t run in a banner (which is where I wanted blinking Christmas lights) and I doubt the OP will be able to make their scripted slide show work but we’ll see.
I have had a lot more luck with regular pictures toward the end of the listing but OP was wanting to insert a slide show…. whole nother ball of wax.
I don’t normally use animated stuff but liked having my pictures and text laid out like I wanted them… ah well… glad you can get your ani to work inside – wish I could get my Christmas banner running…. :) but it won’t somehow the banner spot is not allowing it to go blink blink.
Same here tho I found pictures near the top of the listing won’t work right even regular ones show up as text not the pic.

According to the staff you can only link to your to video presentations off site such as Photo Bucket and such, Gif’s and animation can be direct link or embeded in your description, but not video’s

It’s pretty easy, You will need to Host your Gif in someplace like Photobucket,Then you can copy & Paste into description your URL location (http://www....in decription via insert image link(Looks like a mountain with the sun over top, easy to spot, it is yellow in color( which is at the top of the Description editor. This is a box that opens after or during the time you are creating your description, If you need more help, we are all here for you.

Can you use your own html code in the description box?

You can use your own HTML but be aware some of it may not work right and may get adjusted by the HMTL editor here. Some things will work others won’t, you have to try trial and error … I had to take out background images and it won’t allow images in table backgrounds or at least it didn’t for a while.

I sort of had to adjust a lot of stuff for mine to work, but it isn’t like I used to have it. But I’m getting used to it now so….

Thanks to everyone on this here thread. I got this to work in a listing, and to open in a new tab/window. Been trying to do this for weeks. Got it right just in time for xmas. If you click the link above it will open in the same tab, though.
