Howdy ya’ll. The romanticized notions of the cowboy and the old west have been a part of our culture for generations. The movies of the early 20th century expanded this view into a clear understanding of right from wrong. The likes of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans taught a morality and basic goodness that needs to be revisited by our nation today. It is good to see the cowboy featured here at Bonanzle.

Love this list! Thank you for including my cast iron bowlegged cowboy! So true Cowboys are a breed of their own! I grew up with Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, and the Long Ranger – good shows that taught us to do unto others as you would want them to do unto you.

You are so right about the good qualities of the older “cowboy generation” and how much we really could use a little of that now! Hard working, honest, dependable, and so much more! I was glad to find your picture of Ronald Reagan. He was one of the most caring and humble “cowboys” around. Thanks for your comments. They mean a lot to me.
