Hello.

I hope none of my Bonanzle friends were taken
advantage of because of the mint&#8217;s announcement of the
cessation of the minting of the 2009 Nickels
and dimes at the Denver Mint.

This announcement was a green flag for the less
than honorable sellers to make it seem that the
2009D dimes and nickels were going to be scarce;
so they could take advantage of the novice coin collectors,
and to sell them at inflated prices.

Not only were there to many already minted when
the announcement was made to ever be RARE; but
the mint announced that minting at the Denver branch
had resumed somewhat in June.

In June and July, an additional 7.4 million of these
rare (Nickels) coins were produced.

Although the final mintage figure will undoubtedly be
the smallest in decades, they will never be Rare, or
even hard to get.

If you are fairly new to coin collecting, please educate your self as much as possible about &#8220;Modern Coinage&#8221;.
Unless you are into collecting Proof coins you should eventually be able to find almost all of the newest coins in your change; and if in doubt, consult a trusted &#8220;Elder&#8221; of this wonderful hobby.

Good Luck

    <body>Hello:
Back with those Buffalo&#8217;s again. This will probably be
the last of the Buffalo ; at least for awhile.
So with all of these valuable nickels, to be found, it
would probably be a good idea to look for all those coins
that are stashed away, and closely inspect them.

I have two different coins to show you today.
The first one is a 1916 with doubling on the obverse.

It is believed there were just a few hundred of these coins that
were released to the public. (But no one knows for sure).
Besides the strong doubling on the date, there is also a less
noticeable doubling on the Indians profile.

Today, these coins list for approximately $4,500.00 for a well
worn specimen, to $100,000.00 and over for a like new one.
(I would be satisfied with a very well worn one)

The reason I think there could be more of these doubled dates out
there in old banks and jars, is the fact that this ERROR was not
even reported in a numismatic publication until 1962; long after
these nickels were out of circulation, and tucked away in some
long ago forgotten stash.

The second Buffalo is the 1918 over/7 (Over-Date)
Again, an unknown number of this error were released into
general circulation.

This error is very hard to recognize without the aid of a good
magnifying glass, and very well worn ones would be especially
hard to identify.
Still; If a well worn one is correctly identified, it would list for
approximately $1,400.00, with a like new one listing for $30,000.00 and up.

Now: Time to dig these old curious out and find one of these
errors. I am sure all of you who have old Buffalo Nickels will
not find one, but there just might be at least one of you lucky
enough to find one.

It is my belief that finding one of these rare coins is far more
probable than winning it big on the Lottery.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL

Here is another &#8220;Error&#8221; Buffalo Nickel that
is fairly plentiful, but brings a nice premium.

As you can see, the third feather on the Indian is just
a short one. While doing maintenance on the dies, (Buffing
off various marks, it seems this little nub of a feather was
buffed off.

Although finding a Buffalo Nickel in your pocket change today
is not very likely, I am sure a lot of people have some of
these nickels stashed away someplace. And because this feather is
in a rather protected place, it&#8217;s presence or lack of, is very
clear even on a well worn coin.
These Two Feather Indians have a fairly large collector base, and
as long as there are enough details to identify it by date,
there is some premium. Less wear = more $

Here are the dates of the Two Feather Indians:
1913-D Ty 1
1915
1917-D
1917-S
1918
1918-S
1919
1920-S
1921
1921-S
1925-D
1925-S
1930-S
The 1921-S and 1925-D are the rarest and
command the highest price.

Good Luck

    <body>Hello y&#8217;all
Just thought I would post a little something about coins.
Hopefully to help you find a little extra money.

Without going through all the history and facts concerning
the Susan B. Anthony Dollar I thought I would get right down to
a little known fact about the first year of issue.

The SBA Dollar was first minted in 1979, and as with all first
year as well last years of issue, a large amount of these dollars
were stashed away and forgotten.
The Philadelphia mint actually minted two distinct varieties. One
variety is worth considerably more than the other.

1. Narrow Rim * and 2. *Wide rim.

The pictures show the two varieties. Notice the distance between the
bottom of the date and the rim.

Depending on the condition, the Narrow rim (far date)lists retail for $8.00 to $125.00,
while the wide rim (near date)lists retail for $75.00 t0 $1,000.00.
The high prices are for coins that look new, without finger prints scratches etc.

Dig those dollars out, and start looking.
Be careful, hold them by the edges so no oily
finger prints.

    <body>Hiy&#8217;all;

Sort of a slow rainy day, so I thought it a good day to tell you all
about two more coin oddities that are worth some money and can still
be found in your pocket change.

They are known as double die errors. I will not attempt to describe coin
errors as there tomes and tomes of indexes and titles for the tomes upon tomes of articles written on coin errors. It takes the experts years to agree if
an error will be recognized as a true collectible or not.

Anyway #1.- &#8211; 1977 Double ear
!http://s3.amazonaws.com/bonanzleimages/afu/images/2844/3062/img523_thumb200.jpg!

This is the lesser of the two coins I am describing here. It is known as a hub doubling. This coin is worth something, but has not yet found its place in the collecting community. If it is ever deemed a true collectible, it&#8217;s worth
would surly shoot up.
As for now it is worth what ever the market will bear. I have been unable to
find any record of recent sales to quote.

And #2
!http://s3.amazonaws.com/bonanzleimages/afu/images/2786/4234/img511_thumb200.jpg!

This coin is a well recognized doubling error. It is of a type that is one of the rarest forms of doubling. Notice how clear rhe doubling is on the lobe, very
easy to see without magnification.
I actually found one of these 1984 type #2 about 3 months ago here in Waldron Arkansas. It was in near mint condition. Got it from the bait shop.

This coin is listed at retail from $155.00 to $1,000.00. Of course that is for
coins in near new condition.
But even circulated it would still bring a good buck.

So, keep checking all your pocket change.
If a coin looks odd, just not right, save it and have someone check it for you.
You never know when you might find a windfall.

Good luck and happy hunting.

    <body>First one. 1937-D

A little about the famous Three Legged Buffalo Nickel.
These nickels were produced when a US Mint employee, while
buffing off a flaw on a die, got carried away and buffed off
most of the Buffalos right leg. This resulted in an undetermind
number of these three legged Buffalos to be released into circulation.

Although it is thought there were not many released, there is quite
a large number of fake ones around. So; if you are lucky enough to
find one, a close inspection with a good glass is needed to look for
very fine grinding or buffing marks. Also, there is a series of dots
from the center of the buffalos belly to the ground on the real ones.

These are priced at retail from;
Well worn = $650.00 &#8211; - Like new = $2,300.00

There is also a lesser known Three Legged Nickel that has not received
the notice that the 1937D received. That is a Nickel dated 1936-D.
This Nickel is known as the Three and a Half Legged Buffalo.

It is known as the 3 1/2 leg variety because the leg does not seem to
be as cleanly buffed off. There are fake Nickels dated 1936-D as well.
The number of this date released into circulation is thought to be very small, and therefore a very, very rare variety.

This coin retails at:
Well worn = $1,000.00 &#8211; to almost new = $10,000.00

These coins are not likely to be found in your pocket change,
but one could be lurking in that pouch of old coins you have.

    <body>Hello:
I decided to showcase a couple of lower valued
coins but that have a higher possibility of being found
in your pocket change

The first one is the 1950-D Jefferson Nickel. The 1950-D
Nickel had the smallest amount minted for circulation than
any other Jefferson Nickel. Only 2,630,030. Huge amounts of
these were salted away
!http://s3.amazonaws.com/bonanzleimages/afu/images/3104/4705/img526_thumb155_crop.jpg!

The D is found on the reverse side of the coin and is on the
right side between the building and the rim.

A circulated coin with no damage should bring you from $5 to $10..
________________________________________________________________________________

The second Nickel is the 1939-D &#8220;Doubled Monticello&#8221; variety.
This one is a bit harder to see, so a good magnifying glass is a
definite plus.

Upon close inspection, the word &#8220;Monticello&#8221;, as well as &#8220;Five Cents&#8221;
will seem to have two edges. Like if you would stamp a package,
say, with Fragile, and then you tried to darken it with a second
stamp on top of the first but you did not have it exactly centered.
When you find one in circulation, depending on it&#8217;s condition, the
retail price is from approximately $150.00 to $400.00.

If these coins are well worn, but can be identified correctly,
they would still command some premium.

Good Luck
and
Happy Hunting
