Topic: Promote Your Booth

Post Links on Forums

Ah, nothing like good old fashioned work on the forums to generate site traffic, is there?

You are no dummy, so you probably already know that posting on forums is one of the most surefire, if labor intensive, ways to build up credibility, and ultimately traffic. Here are some of the forums on which you would most likely find a captive audience to hear about your booth and items:

  • Kaboodle. Heavily trafficked site of frequent online shoppers who like to discuss cool items they find online. Great way to build traffic if you have a booth with creative or unique items.
  • Squidoo. Great place to discuss anything -- Bonanzle in general, your store, your items, or just shoot the breeze with people of similar interests.
  • Craigslist. Some of the most active forums you'll ever see.
  • Yahoo Buying and Selling Group. Buyers ask questions, you build a reputation as a credible question answerer.
  • Auctionbytes. One of the most popular sites to discuss online auction sites, and online shopping in general.
  • Powersellers Unite. Heavily trafficked site of frequent online sellers and some online buyers.

Of course, if all your items are from a particular niche, you may find you have the best luck Googling and posting to forums that are specific to that niche. Almost every hobby has multiple forums where users passionately discuss the best places to buy and sell items in that niche.
