How do I accept checkout via Google Checkout on Bonanzle?

With a few steps, you can setup your booth to accept payment via Google Checkout. While Google Checkout setup is more involved than setting up Paypal, advanced sellers have found that Google Checkout offers lower fees and an arguably better user experience. For advanced sellers, it should only take a matter of minutes to get Google Checkout working with your booth. For novices, it will probably take closer to 30 minutes -- if you want something faster/easier, consider Paypal.

Here's how to setup Google Checkout to work with Bonanzle:

  1. Sign up for a Google Checkout (henceforth, GC) seller account. Even if you already have a GC account, you still need a new account to use with Bonanzle, since each GC account can only send status notification to one place (in this case, Bonanzle). You can sign up through this button:

    Gc_signup.

Answer Google's questions and set up your account.
  2. After you complete signup, you should find yourself at a screen similar to that below. Click on the "Settings" tab, and then click on "Integration" link on the left hand menu.
    Gc_step_1
  3. Gc_step_checkboxIn a new window, open Bonanzle, click "Sell", and click the "Edit" button next to the "Payment types accepted." Make sure that "Google Checkout" is checked, along with any other payment methods you want to accept. Then click the "Save" button to your immediate right to finish your edit.
  4. Click the "Update Booth" button (or "Activate Booth" button, if you haven't yet activated your booth) near the upper right hand area of your screen.
  5. You will now be prompted for your Google Merchant ID and Google Merchant Key. Switch back to your Google window, where the Merchant ID and Merchant Key are located on the right area of the screen (see below). Copy and paste both of these values into their appropriate fields on Bonanzle.
    Gc_step_2
  6. From Bonanzle, highlight the following address and press CTRL-C: https://www.bonanzle.com/offers_checkout/google_callback
  7. Go back to the Google Integration window, click the field labeled "API Callback URL" and press CTRL-V to paste the callback URL. Leave the "Callback method" as XML. Then click the "Save" button below that field to save the API Callback URL. Gc_step_3
  8. Return to Bonanzle, and click "Update Seller Account" to commit your Google Merchant ID and Merchant Key to Bonanzle.
  9. And you're done! When buyers checkout, they'll now be given the option to checkout with Google Checkout. Google will email you when you receive an offer through them.

If you’ve already setup your booth and want to add Google Checkout afterwards, your Google Checkout settings are entered via the My Bonanzle → Account info page.

Actually it is quite easy to add Google Checkout to your Bonanzle account and it isn’t half as hard as it seems, plus once your done and have Google Checkout activated for use, you are saving money in fees compared to Paypal just like Bonanzle says.

These steps are perfect. Open these intructions, your Bonanzle page, and Google in separate windows and go back and forth. Easy!

    Q. I opened a Google checkout and I want to use the same account for Bonanzle, and other sites. Is this possible?
    A. No. Your Google Checkout account can only be used with Bonanzle. The Callback URL is unique and can only communicate with one site.

    Q. Google checkout is getting an error message when they send to my API URL. “We encountered an error processing your notification acknowledgment. Expected serial number was not contained in request. Merchant has enabled serial number notification handshake.”
    A. I believe this is currently due to your
account requiring serial number acknowledgments. To resolve this issue,
please log into your Google Merchant Center, click on the Settings tab then
Integration link. Finally, uncheck the box, “Require notification
acknowledgments to specify the serial number of the notification” and
    save.
