Why Won't My Items Show Up in Google Product Search?
There are many circumstances that may lead to your items not showing up in Google Product Search. Here are the currently known reasons.
Your type of item isn't supported by Google Merchant Center or does not comply with the Google Program PoliciesYou haven't allowed 48 hours for items to process
(Commodity items only) You need to provide an ISBN, UPC or MPC code
Item type not supported by Google Product Search
There are many types of items that won't show up in Google Product Search, either because Google doesn't allow them, because they aren't practical, or for other reasons. Here are the currently known items that won't show up in your items feed:
- Anything prohibited by the Google Merchant Center Program Policies.
- Any items that are marked as "pickup only."
- Duplicate items.
- Items that are identical except for size (in this case, we will send just item of the group to Google).
- Freebies.
- Cars, motorcycles, real estate, powersports, and other vehicles.
Allow 48 hours for items to process
According to Google, it can take up to 48 hours before your items show up as processed. In the meantime you may get reports that your items are not loading.
Note that if your items were submitted with a data feed, Google will not grab the items until the time that you scheduled when you set up the data feed. The default is to grab your items once per month -- you'll probably want to change that to once daily or once weekly so that your items get online sooner.
(Commodities only) For commodities to show up in Google Products, they may require a ISBN, UPC, or MPC code
If you sell commodities, and you find that they're not showing on Google Products, the reason may be because Google wants an ISBN, UPC, or MPC code for your items before putting them into the Google Products search. Having this more specific info allows Google to group items together in product searches so buyers can find them more easily.
