Introduction to the eBay Importer -- How Do I Use It?
The eBay feedback importer lets you keep your cred when you move to Bonanzle. Here's how to use it:
- Go to it. Click "My Bonanzle" -> "Import Feedback".
- Enter your eBay user name and feedback (so we know that that's your feedback). We do not save this information, and will not have it for any longer than it takes to import your feedback.
- Wait a minute or two while wheels turn and bridges burn.
- See feedback imported. Dance.
My feedback score looks wrong! How did the importer get that number?
To determine your feedback score, we look through the most recent 5000 feedback you received on eBay. eBay's "feedback at a glance" will sometimes display only feedback in the last year, and sometimes it doesn't even display that, so there is no easy way to determine the make up of one's last 5000 feedbacks on eBay, other than to read through your feedback, page by mind-numbing page (aren't you glad we have computers to do this for us?).
If you decide that you'd rather not import your feedback at all rather than get your most recent 5000 feedback imported, there will be a link on the feedback page to delete your eBay feedback. Think twice before you do this, though. Most buyers would far rather see a lengthy reputation -- no matter how imperfect -- over no reputation at all.
Is there a limit to how many feedback will be imported? Why?
Only your 5000 most recent feedback will be imported. We have found that 5000 of feedback is plenty of feedback to give buyers a sense of a seller's credibility. For the competitive sellers possessing more than 5000 feedback on eBay, this limit provides a clean slate to challenge your fellow powerseller on Bonanzle to get the highest possible feedback scores.
Are there exceptions to these rules?
Unfortunately, no. We know that many of our sellers have long and outstanding reputations at eBay, and we are excited for them to continue to build this reputation on Bonanzle. However, in the interests of giving a level playing field to all sellers, we aren't able to make exceptions like importing only the last year of feedback or importing more than 5000 feedback. As mentioned above, you can always delete your feedback and start with 0 if you loathe your imported feedback score, but chances are that buyers will find you most trustable if you have a long feedback history, even if it isn't a perfect one.
