    Greetings and salutations! For those of you who don't know The Dena, I've been selling on That Other Place since 2001. I specialize in books but I'm too much of a generalist to just sell one thing. I figure most of you will want to wear something while you are reading, so it might as well be one of my t-shirts. I also like to throw in the occasional tchotchke or gem of vintage clothing when it pleases me. I am always happy to negotiate on price or combine shipping, and I will be delighted to ship outside of the U.S. if you contact me in advance for a quote.

    You may notice that some of my listings have a detailed description of the item whereas others just have a brief statement about the edition. This has to do simply with the fact that I have imported much of the listing content from That Other Place, where in some cases I may rely on pre-filled item information. That being said, you will find synopses of these books on Amazon or elsewhere with a simple Google or Yahoo search. For now I am more concerned about describing less common books for which you may not be able to find detailed information elsewhere.

    I do, however, try to provide as much detailed information as possible about condition. In most cases I have posted at least one image of each item, but in a few cases I may not yet have an image posted. If you wish to see what an item looks like and I have not yet posted an image, please do message me and I will rectify that problem asap.

    I've been on Bonanzle since the relatively early days of October 2008, but my plate was so full in December and January that I wasn't able to be very active for awhile. Things have stabilized a bit and now my various social networks and online projects have been overlapping in all kinds of interesting ways. Looking at Bonanzle, I can see I like it as much as ever, maybe more with these new showcase themes on the front page. Needless to say, I see this as an opportunity to demonstrate my supremely excellent taste. As much as taste is eternally and delightfully subjective, I am proud to say my supremely excellent taste was quite recently validated when I was selected to be a Supremely Excellent Judge on the Chicago-Based Panel of Amy Krouse Rosenthal's Beckoning of Lovely project: http://thebeckoningoflovely.wordpress.com/
    I am excited about this beyond anything I can articulate. My crackpot theory is that people with my odd skill set are actually at an advantage in these harsh economic times, simply by virtue of being able to

    (a) Find good stuff
    (b) Talk about it
    (c) Work the system
    and
    (d) Offer value for dollar, a.k.a quality and service. You can't really afford for either to be optional, because there are so many options.

    I want you to have the good stuff mainly because it pleases me to do so, but of course I also like to pay my bills. I have a Psych B.A. and an MSLIS and hence have specialized knowledge in these areas, as well as in the broader area of popular culture. I would also like to think I can write pretty decently, although like bookselling this is a skill one continues to learn and develop on a daily basis.

    For those of you who might want to know, I have an eight-year-old daughter and am a breast cancer survivor, currently enjoying this second opportunity to live the life I always wanted, knee-deep in books and lovely words and images, pushing myself to learn new skills. Please excuse this rare moment of sincerity. Now, back to our regular snide and sarcastic programming.

    I would love to continue to do more of these when time allows. In general, the best way to support The Dena is to buy something from me here on Bonanzle. Unlike That Other Place, they do not charge any fees until I sell an item. They also offer more payment options, including money orders. If you are in my local network, you are more than welcome to pick up an item here or even meet up with my spouse downtown, hence avoiding shipping fees.

    As always, I encourage you to tag any items of mine that you think are interesting/cool/well-priced, etc. This, in turn, will help other buyers find these things. Wow, you actually made it to the end of this. I am totally impressed, now get out of here and browse this cool site!
