Hello All,
By way of introduction, my name is Greg. I am an artist, antique collector, and have been selling online for the past five years. I have studied both art and antiques most of my life, and began selling same in the early 70s. My great aunt and uncle owned an original small Vermont town dump on the edge of their farm since the 1940s. Thus, began my early interest in old items and career as a pack-rat.
I have owned and operated four unique brick and mortar storefronts, where I sold antiques, art, and built and sold custom furniture. The furniture was my own design based on period furniture. They were made from antique lumber, square nails, and hardware salvaged from old homes that were unfortunately torn down.
My art specialty was assemblage art that was comprised of the oddities gleaned from years of antique picking--items that were too cool to discard, but with no particular monetary value, but had esthetic value.
I have had success showing in a quite a number of New England galleries. My art was well known for the oddities from stuff I would part with from my store.
At present, lacking a storefront and space, I am working in collage, and I really love it.
Besides my passion for collage, I am also a lover of vintage clothing and have been collecting and wearing vintage and altered articles since the 60s. I currently live in an area that has proven rich in the variety of vintage items available and quality contemporary garments. I offer men's vintage items, because that is what I am comfortable and have some familiarity with.
After many years of suggesting to friends that they should try selling items from this ever renewable pool, I finally took my own advice. I am happy to offer some of the great items I find. I only sell items that I would wear myself, and some as I downsize from my own collection. I love this opportunity with Bonanzle and eagerly anticipate its growth.
I look forward meeting you, and dealing together down the road. Heck, I may even break down and offer some of my "weirdities" on here in time. I do retain a select local clientele, so if an item is deleted, it most likely sold locally. I am all too happy to pay for any fees due here.
