Why A Mt Sunset? Because it is my favorite place to go, a mountain lot with a beautiful view and a spectacular sunset. So why not name your business something that brings a smile to your face.
My husband and I have been collecting antiques (furniture, depression glass, kitchen collectibles) for some 25 years. Our two beautiful daughters are grown and we are facing Empty Nest and downsizing. It is time to let go of some our "collectibles" and find a new home for them.
Along with antiques, vintage items and collectibles, you will find handmade Mosaic Art I created. I have been into art my whole life, from painting landscapes, making ceramics, stenciling walls, floors, furniture and many others art forms. My new love is mosaics. I got started 3 years ago. I was watching a craft show on TV and the artist made a mosaic sign for her friend's lake house. We have mountain property and I had been thinking of some unique way to make a sign to hang at our driveway. Bingo! Mosaics was the way to go. I created a sign with our name and a sunset behind it, we named our property Sunset Rock. Some of our fellow property owners started asking me to make signs for them, so now my sign is not so unique, several owners have one I designed. That is how I got started. When I am shopping for supplies and explain that I want the cheapest price on those tiles, plates or glass because I am going to break them, I get that blank look. One clerk said,"Who are you mad at that you want to break plates?"
