Most of my adult career was spent working in sales and marketing for US corporations selling PC peripherals and technology. As a hobby, in 1997 I opened a small retail booth in a local weekend antique mall selling things that I had a lifelong passion for collecting... designer and vintage handbags, compacts and vanity items, hats and hat pins, and antique and vintage jewelry.
I started selling online in 1999 and three years later I didn’t renew my lease on the retail booth. Instead, I focused my efforts on building an online business, a brand and a loyal a customer base. Eventually I quit the big outside corporate world. I switched from being on the road all the time to being at home surrounded by things I love. I left traffic and airport delays for a twelve stair commute to a home office. When I travel now it is for the excitement of meeting new people with similar interests and acquiring new products. I traded in suits for sweat pants and I haven't looked back once or regretted my decision.
Online commerce has evolved over the years. My passion evolved too. I’m still excited, hopeful and working hard toward building a strong business and brand on Bonanzle. I enthusiastically market Bonanzle as a new, simple, safe, exciting and growing neighborhood. It's filled with fantastic neighbors who are supportive and reputable. I’m having a good time and ironic as it is, I'm back in a booth again... where the fun all started.
