Handmade by Martha features quilts made by hand. Quilts are homemade: machine pieced, hand tied or machine quilted, and machine hemmed in a smoke free and pet free environment using new materials. I also make personalized note cards, postcards, and canvas tote bags.
Hi, my name is Martha and I sell quilts that I have made myself. I have been making quilts since high school, which is a very very long time ago. In college, I majored in Art History with a minor in Studio Art. I enjoyed a career as a museum curator for several years until I realized that I either had to sell my pony or change careers. Twenty three years later, I retired as a senior systems computer analyst.
Now I am back to my first love of making beautiful functional art.
I make log cabin quilts by hand. The smallest is perfect for baby, a wall hanging, or a table centerpiece. The middle size works well for cribs, carriages, and car rides. The largest is great for any baby or adult you want to wrap in love, warmth and comfort.
All the quilts are homemade: machine sewn, hand tied and machine hemmed in a smoke free and pet free environment. I make all of the quilts myself using new materials.
Each quilt is unique and of heirloom quality.
